SARS announced on November 13, a relief for taxpayers struggling to meet the manual submission deadline for income tax returns with a two(2) week extension of the deadline and additional time for those who submit electronically via SARS branches.
The new deadline for submission of a manual (paper) return via post or drop-off at a branch is Friday 5 December 2008 and for those taxpayers submitting their returns electronically – either by SARS eFiling or by visiting a SARS branch where their return is captured electronically face-to-face with SARS staff – have until 23 January 2009.
My advise: Get yours IN before the festive season rush!
